Our solicitors’ charging rate depends on their experience level.

Fixed fees can be offered in some cases depending on the case’s complexity.

Drink driving offence, guilty plea – fixed fee £600 (including VAT charged at 20%)

Fee includes:

  • 2 hours attendance/preparation:
    • considering evidence
    • taking your instructions
    • providing advice on likely sentence
  • Attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court

The fee does not include:

  • instruction of any expert witnesses
  • taking statements from any witnesses
  • advice and assistance in relation to a special reasons hearing
  • advice or assistance in relation to any appeal

The key stages of your matter are based on the presumption that you have entered a guilty plea and have a date for your hearing.

  • Meet with your solicitor to provide instructions on what happened.
  • We will consider initial disclosure, and any other evidence and provide advice.
  • Arranging to take any witness statements if necessary (this will have an additional cost, of £180 (including VAT charged at 20%).
  • We will explain the court procedure to you so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court.
  • We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow up queries you have.
  • We cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place, as this depends on the court listing for that day.
  • We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going before the court. We anticipate being at court, in relation to your matter, for 2 hours.
  • We will discuss the outcome with you. If advice is required on appeal, this will carry an additional cost.

Guilty Pleas

  • Drug driving
  • Driving without due care and attention
  • Speeding
  • Failing to provide driver details

This type of case will cost £500 plus VAT.

The fee does not include the instruction and costs of any expert witness, taking statements from any witnesses, advice and assistance with making special reasons or exceptional hardship argument, or advice or help with any appeal.

It is difficult to estimate how long your case will take at court as it will depend on the court listing for that day; however, we would anticipate being at court with you for up to half a day (morning or afternoon).

Other Cases

  • Newton hearings
  • Special reasons
  • Exceptional hardship arguments

A simple case will cost £1,500 – £2,500 plus VAT.

This includes an initial meeting with you to obtain instructions and consider the evidence; advising you as to plea and sentence; arranging to take witness statements; identifying and instructing an expert witness; attending court and representing you during the hearing; discussing the outcome, and advising on an appeal.

What Our Clients Say

I would recommend these solicitors to anyone who needs someone with empathy, understanding and complete honesty, Richard Frank especially. A family member needed assistance with a court case, and Richard showed all the above. The front-line staff are fantastic, passing on every message—a fabulous group of people.

My case went on for nearly 5 years. I had the same solicitor throughout who was very good, and coupled with the barrister they put on my case. I had nothing but trust that they would do everything needed to ensure the right outcome. Very good firm. Thank you Maria for the work you have done.
